A couple days after Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, the Big Idea discusses this somber and profound holy day and the concepts underlying it. I am joined by three McGill students--Rachel Katler, Allison Zionts and David Szames--as well as Dr. Jack Hirschberg, a forensic psychologist at Concordia University and an active member of the Jewish community. We discuss what ideas like guilt, sin and reconciliation mean from the perspective of Judaism and how one can make sense of the Day of Atonement as a postmodern person.
